I get "Error opening file for writing" when I install.
Make sure you have necessary rights to install programs. Check the folder permissions to make sure installer can copy files. Be sure to check the parent folder because permissions are inherited. You can also try downloading a fresh copy of the install exe in case you got a bad copy. You can also try rebooting the computer to remove any system instability that may be causing problems.

I want to hide all windows.
Turn off White List. Turn on Black List and select "Hide all active windows".

I want to hide only specific windows.
Turn on Black List and select windows you want to hide. Make sure "Hide all active windows" is off.

I want to hide some windows but leave other windows alone.
Turn on Back List and select windows you want to hide. Turn on White List and select windows you do not want to hide.

I get popup windows while hiding. Can I hide these too?
First add the popup windows to the Black List. Then select "Hide new windows". Popups will be hidden.

I want the Change Display to work with hide/restore.
You can assign the same shortcut to both the hide/restore action and the change display action. They will then both work with the same shortcut.

When i change the display the settings form disappears. Help!
This occurs when you change the display to a lower resolution. What happens is that the settings form moves off screen. Solution is to position the settings form somewhere on the screen so that it will stay on screen when the display is changed.

I want maximum privacy. What is the maximum stealth configuration?
For maximum stealth do the following: 1) Reinstall and choose "Do not create shortcuts". The group folder in Start | Programs will not be created. 2) Then turn off "Show tray icon" in Program settings. 3) Then turn off "Start when computer starts" in Settings. 4) Manually start and end "the Boss" during times of use.

If "the Boss" has a Start | Programs group folder you can click the exe icon and it will open the settings. Or you can search for "LaBossKey.exe" on your hard drive and then open it to open settings. From there you can make changes.

The caption for a tray icon may say "[caption unavailable]" but one can see the correct caption when mouse is hovered over icon. Or icon ordering by the icon mamager can sometimes be unpredictable. Or sometimes a duplicate icon will appear and/or random information displayed about it in the Tray Icon Select List.

This is a known problem with Windows operating system. When this happens it indicates that the system tray has become unstable. Not unstable as in a computer crash, but that the system tray is not operating as it should be. The data about some of the tray icons have become corrupted and the system tray is providing wrong data to programs that query it. Solution is to restart the computer to remove instabilty, this forces the system tray to refresh itself.
